Rangers unseeded in LC

Recommended Posts

RANGERS will be unseeded when the first round draw of the League Cup takes place at Hampden tomorrow.

And that means they will draw one of the 10 First Division sides or the top five in the Second Division from last season.

Seems like another fix to me to spread the Rangers pound around. The 3rd division teams have already had their share and Albion Rovers have been cut in. We're now in the 2nd division so I predict a first division side.

Why wouldn't we be seeded with our LC record in the last five years? Or is it strictly on last year's placing in all divisions?

All seems a bit strange for the competitions most successful club - and the conquerors of the 2nd team in the Scottish leagues last season.

Who do you fancy out of this lot?

Partick Thistle,

Morton,

Falkirk,

Livingston,

Hamilton,

Raith Rovers,

Dumbarton,

Cowdenbeath,

Dunfermline,

Airdrie,

Queen of the South,

Alloa,

Brechin,

Forfar,

Arbroath.

I'll predict Dunfermline, they need the money more than any of the others. :)

Hamilton away wouldnt surprise me to fund their outspoken chairman.

This really was our cup tournament especially in the 80s and 90s when it was a cracking cup tournament and worth something. I was looking at the stats of this yesterday, we played in 11 finals in 13 years at one point winning 9 of them. And in my lifetime since 1980 we've been in 20 finals winning 17 of them. Amazing stats.
