Bluedell 5,723
Why is it a negative step though? Weakens the board and also disrupts the balance.
Zappa 0
I know that some will see a grand conspiracy behind it all, with Green to suqeeze the club dry and whatnot. Those not inclined to follow that line of thought would like to have reasonable explanations rather than bewildering and ominous predictions that rarely get any back-up. Until someone shows me a reasonable explanation as to why guys like Green & Ahmad are even involved in the ownership of Rangers at all, never mind lining their pockets without having invested any serious money themselves, then I will remain concerned about their purpose and intentions. Maybe someone can also give us all a "reasonable explanation" as to why right from square one Green & co were in a mad rush to float the company, award themselves millions of pounds worth of shares and sell millions more to fans and investors only for almost all of the cash raised to swiftly vanish into some sort of financial black hole/void. There's actually quite a substantial list of things some of the fans would like a "reasonable explanation" for without being accused of spreading conspiracy theories. The problem is, that Green & co quickly became masters of avoiding properly answering pertinent questions and also masters of creating mind-boggling distractions whenever necessary with outlandish moonbeam-style PR stunts or embarrassing nonsense involving racist comments and digging deep holes to crawl into and hide.

reaper 0
So you can't imagine a scenario wherein the investors make a profit, cash in their chips, and leave the club in a worse state? No not at all.
craig 5,199
Again, apart from one or two people's assumptions, what sort of power does a majority shareholder with no place on the board (?) wield? Is he still a director? Will he actually go and challenge Smith for power, in the full knowledge that the support would sure not welcome this? Who says that Murray and Cartmell did not want to go anyway? (Yeah, some "people in the know" there in the background will shake their heads at such "naivety" ... and keep to themselves.) I know that some will see a grand conspiracy behind it all, with Green to suqeeze the club dry and whatnot. Those not inclined to follow that line of thought would like to have reasonable explanations rather than bewildering and ominous predictions that rarely get any back-up. A great deal. As majority shareholder (Green isnt majority shareholder by the way....) you get to pretty much veto any vote at an AGM and you also can pretty much determine who is elected and re-elected at the Board level. Green is not "majority shareholder" though - he is the largest single shareholder which is very different to the former. Why would he challenge Smith for power ? Smith is Chairman, Green would want the CEO role back one would assume, so he would be challenging Mather, not Smith.
amms 0
No not at all. Did you used to run the Royal Bank of Scotland?

That is another contentious thing. Can this actually be validated and verified in any way? How much was taken in, how much was used for what, how much remains, and how much if any "vanished". I for one assume that these figure will be made available in the half-year or annual accounts, which are due when again?
