Guest Bob Agg Posted July 4, 2013 Share Posted July 4, 2013 Having researched the 1930 Charity Cup Final for an article on our 1930 North American Tour, I turned my hand to looking into our games that were decided by the toss of a coin. Turns out we were incredibly lucky throughout the years as far as coin tossing decisions go. 54andcounting 0 Posted July 4, 2013 Share Posted July 4, 2013 ...also, the article tells this story....(sorry to nitpick) Season 1993/94 saw Hampden under re-development, and when Rangers drew Celtic on live television in the Semi-Final draw for the League Cup, it was obvious there was no neutral venue for the tie to be played. After a quick meeting of the Brains Trust in charge of the draw, it was decided the toss of a coin would decide the venue, Ibrox or Parkhead. Walter Smith and Tommy Burns were summoned for the event, and Smith being the gentleman he is, he let Tommy Burns make the call.
