Dundee v Rangers: Friendly 31 July

Recommended Posts

Ha! and Rangers 'official' reason for not playing the Jambos was because they didn't have a free date on the calendar.

That Dundee game was sure "in the pipeline" when these Hearts chaps came up with the idea of playing us. :fish: It would obviously be a tragedy should Hearts fold on the day we celebrate the 120th year of the Dark Blues ...

Bollox. I will be back home then but am being forced into spending time with the outlaws - which means I wont be given permission to attend (if I were fortunate enough to even snag a ticket....

I may have to just go AWOL for the evening.

From the Dundee Telegraph....

In 1893 Dundee FC were formed following an amalgamation of two local clubs and on August 12th 1893 they played Rangers FC in their first ever league match.

The original match which ended in a 3-3 draw is depicted on the cover of all DFC season ticket books and brochures this year and everyone at Dens is looking forward to the game which is the first commemorative event of the season to celebrate our 120th anniversary. We are delighted that the Glasgow giants have agreed to honour this part of our history and will warmly welcome the club and itâ??s fans to Dens Park at the end of July.

Nice touch from Dundee FC
