Help bail us out Gers

Recommended Posts

This issue is a no win situation for Rangers. If the playing a friendly suggestion is declined, we will be criticised. If we agree to play and very few Rangers supporters turn up, which is both likely and understandable, again there will be criticism.

Surely it would be the responsibility of Hearts fans to turn out for this should it be arranged - I don't think there would be a massive expectation for us to travel through. The opposition isn't really the point in a match like this, anyway. It would be more of an opportunity for them to show their support, like our legends game vs AC Milan last year.

I don't go along with the return to the negotiating table view. Not unless there was an expression of remorse by the SPL gang. These were the people who wanted Rangers to sign away titles before any evidence had been presented and when their persistence failed, they wanted Rangers to meet the costs. As far as I know, that remains their position. Do we really want to negotiate with such individuals? What benefits could we realistically expect to emerge from negotiations?

Probably the truest statement in the thread.

This would be a huge kick in the teeth for our supporters who stuck by and got us through the last 12 months to go and assist a club who were partly to blame for where we ended up.

I dont wish this situation on Hearts but we arent there to help them. I dont wish them good or bad in the coming months. They deal with it themselves. They are where they are.

Talk about a boycott against SPL sides last season and 100 or so went to Tannadice, this would surely have to merit a full boycott from every bear globally.

Id have no problem playing Hearts in a pre-season tournament overseas but not at Tynecastle where the purpose is to fund their problems.

Why dont they ask the SPL to send a SPL select XI from the other clubs.

The best idea in the thread.

Still living the Hearts dream

GARY Locke sounded out Ally McCoist about the possibility of bringing Rangers to Tynecastle for a pre-season friendly to raise funds for the cash-strapped Gorgie side.

The Ibrox team were unable to oblige as they had already fixed up trips to Bristol and Germany in pre-season – and the Hearts administrators Trevor Birch and Bryan Jackson of BDO are now pursuing alternative glamour opponents – but the story emphasises the manager's willingness to leave no stone unturned in an attempt to make sure his boyhood heroes survive beyond the summer.

Indeed. BTW, why don't they asked their traditional and local rivals?
