Rangers Football Club 0
THE EDITORIAL Standards Committee today upheld a complaint from Rangers fans that the BBC had failed to demonstrate enough â??clarity and precisionâ?? when reporting on Rangers Football Club. The Committee concluded the BBC â??had not used clear, precise language and due accuracy had not been achieved.â?? It was also agreed that on balance and taking into account the sensitivities, where the purpose of the item of output is to discuss football and the club, then it was not appropriate to make a distinction between an â??oldâ??, â??newâ?? or â??re-launched club.â?? Rangers Football Club are pleased that the Editorial Standards Committee findings prove the BBC should have been more aware and balanced in their reporting of Rangers. We wait to discover if the BBC will now treat this club and fans with the respect they deserve. You can read the findings of the Committee HERE Read more on the official site...
Frankie 8,843
Too little, too late from Rangers. It's unacceptable that our club continues to leave it to the fans to pursue such issues. Immense credit to the bears who followed this through but the fact they had to and RFC did not is extremely disappointing - BBC Scotland ban or not.
True_Ger_1872 2
I had imagined this type of issue would be one for James Traynor in his new role given his rather 'bulldog' nature within the tone of his few Rangers Press Releases.....
UCF2008 0
I've just finished reading the related article on the BBC website and it's just about as unapologetic as you would expect from them and their twisted mindset.
sannybear 0
This is where a big brain like Donald Finlay is required to tear them to shreds and not let up until heads rolled .
onevision 1,619
No apology, so keep these fuckers out of Ibrox until they beg and grovel to be allowed back in.
Juancornetto 1
Douglas Frazer seems particularly miffed at the decision. His Twitter outburst today was very strange.
