Super Cooper 0
There is no big 3. Puma are not in the same league as the big 2. Anyway, our deal will be with Genesis Sports and not PUMA which is even worse.
Thinker 887
Utter bollocks Personally, I'm happy enough with Puma making our strips, but to be fair they are a distant 3rd behind Adidas and Nike in terms of market share.

rbr 1,256
Puma Football Kits Puma is one of the leading football kit manufacturers in the world. After Nike and Adidas it is probably the third biggest football brand around. Rudi Dassler started the Puma company after splitting up with his brother Adi in 1948. A family argument in the “Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik” made Rudi started his own sportswear company. Initially with the name RuDa it soon used the current iconic Puma brand name. Like Adidas the Puma factory is situated in Herzogenaurach (Germany). Puma became a big football brand in the 70s and 80s. Many great players like Johan Cruijjf, Pele and Diego Maradona did sign a contract with the German based football kit brand. In later years their rivals Adidas and especially Nike dominated the football market for kits and boots. Since 2007 Puma is owned by the French company PRR (Pinault-Printemps-Redoute), a French multinational holding company with a worldwide brand portfolio in luxury, sports & lifestyle. The company, founded in 1963 by François Pinault – and now run by his son François-Henri Pinault, will be renamed to Kering later in 2013.

craig 5,199
rbr, Just because it is 3rd biggest doesnt mean there is a big 3. That is like saying that Hearts (or pick another Scottish club) and saying they are part of the big 3. We all know Scottish football consists of them and us (the big 2) and the rest. The reality is that being 3rd biggest doesnt mean there is a big 3, it could mean there is a big 2 and the 3rd biggest is much smaller. And the figures posted above prove that out.
Darthter 542
Based on the info provided,...its clear that Nike & Adidas are way ahead of Puma. However, Puma are still twice the size of Umbro.....which has to be a positive thing. Nike & Adidas also have premium price tags to match, it will be interesting to see how the cost of the Puma shirts compare.
Thinker 887
I suppose the important point isn't really who's making the kit, it's how much they're paying us for the privilege.
