Rangers pull Boris Pandza offer

BORIS Pandza has been left fuming after being told his Rangers move is off unless Ally McCoist can get players out the door.

Express Sport revealed last month that the Bosnian international had agreed terms with the Ibrox club after he dropped his weekly wage demands by £2,000.

Pandza had expected to fly to Scotland to sign a three-year contract but was left stunned when Gers chief executive Craig Mather informed him the deal had been put on hold.

Manager McCoist has been told to offload fringe players if he wants to strengthen further after making Bilel Mohsni his eighth summer signing.

Hopes of signing a second goalkeeper is dependent on rookie Scott Gallacher being loaned out.

Fellow centre-back Pandza has been assured McCoist is still eager to sign him, but it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old is willing to wait and gamble on a move to the Scottish League One club or opt for one of several European options he has on the table.

Rangers have several players they are willing to move on including Emilson Cribari, Kyle Hutton, Ross Perry, Sebastien Faure and Anestis Argyriou – but they need to find takers first.

McCoist wants to sign a striker, with Mamady Sidibe and Hameur Bouazza both on trial, but it looks like their chances of a deal could now be thrown up in the air as well.

From today's press conference ...

AMcC on Pandza - It's just taking a little bit longer than everyone would have liked. We're still hopeful that something could happen.

AMcC - I have identified a target for up front and Craig (Mather) knows that I'm keen to bring him in. You'll just have to watch this space.

AMcC - I think we're still a bit light up front and also in defence. We're still looking at bringing in a goalkeeper too.

Rangers take Republic of Ireland youngster Sam Kelly on trial

The Republic of Ireland youth international linked up with Ally McCoist's side on Monday as he looks to earn a deal.

Kelly, 19, was released by Everton in the summer after one year with the Goodison Park side, during which he made several appearances at Under-21 level.

He had previously been on the books of Norwich City but also did not make a first team appearance.

Kelly has also been involved with the England youth setup, having been provisionally named in an Under-19s squad earlier this year.

The left-footed player joins former Dundee keeper Steve Simonsen in training at Murray Park.
