But that isnt to say what you want is the best solution.

The club could still win the league with a lower cost team, thereby saving money for either better players or increased wages when it is necessary.

We can AFFORD the second most expensively assembled team in Scotland. But I would prefer that we spend the money NECESSARY to get out of SFL2 - which, undoubtedly, would NOT require us to have the 2nd highest wage bill in Scotland. As I said previously, when we hit SFL1 is the time to really start assembling a team ready to challenge for the SPL in their first crack at it again.

Example, if we can AFFORD playing salaries, including transfers, of say 10 million a season - would you prefer that we hit that figure in SFL2, or would you prefer to spend, say, 5 million in SFL2 thereby giving you 5 million of savings which can be earmarked for SFL1 and/or SPL. Now, obviously neither of us can guarantee winning promotion - but we SHOULD be able to assemble a squad paying less than the 2nd highest wages in the country.

What you are saying is that you would like to spend as much as possible within our means. Which is fair enough. However, I would prefer we spend the minimum necessary to get out of SFL2 and any cost savings can then be used for strengthening in SFL1.

I just dont see the need to spend whatever we can afford - that is akin to someone spending the money in their savings account because they can afford it, only to see that their electricity, phone bills etc have now gone up and they cant pay the bills.... best to spend what you NEED to spend and save some for a rainy day - at least in my opinion.

I tend to agree with you Craig, however as long as we can afford certain salaries without harming us then I would like to see us having the best team we can possibly have,we want to compete and win the cups for instance!,as long as we can afford to have a better squad then why not?.

if we can get players that will be of a standard that can win the spl we should. if not we should save our cash and wait.

on the whole.

I think that is what I was trying to say

If Malcolm Murray wants to make cut backs, then he maybe goes up in my estimation because major cutbacks should have been made at the club. The reason I say maybe though, is that he's been the Chairman since last summer and the cut backs should have been made immediately when he knew we would be playing in Division 3 with massively reduced income. No company likes to make cut backs and redundancies, but that's what should have happened, not on a whim, but certainly before Xmas. So, what was Malcolm Murray doing all season while Green & co were scheming how best to float & divvy up the juicy Rangers pie?

We're currently in a position of spending more money than we bring in and that's not sustainable. The cash from the IPO should have been saved for getting us back into the top flight and mounting a title challenge, but because there hasn't been a significant enough program of cost-cutting, the cash is being squandered on maintaining our high run costs and will probably be gone before we're even back in the top flight.

whyte brining him to the table in the first place was more than enough to see his time at rangers finish.

indeed so were the complaints from tennents and gamers.

nothing in this report can make it wrong that he left it can only tell us how bad things were.

I disagree, it hasn't even been proven that Whyte brought him to the table surely.

proven? it hasn't even been contested.

but forget that green struck a deal to hand us back to whyte if we got a cva. no way out of that deal once it was struck and green admits he did the deal. then if we are lucky he got greedy and stiffed whyte when the cva failed. if were really lucky he did it with no comeback on rangers.

thats all in black and white. it's also more than enough to see green long gone.

but really we don't need to worry about whats been proven and what hasn't charles left with his millions of his own free will.

Whyte brought Imran to the table, Imran brought Green in as front man.

The big Question is still: Who actually own us? Who owns the assets? I know there is a company name on the deeds but who is behind that company name?
