the gunslinger 3,366
the gist of it seems to be he isn't strong enough to seize control and lacks leadership.
Gribz 966
Im baffled how we managed to take 3 steps forward and 4 back. Who on the current board is problematic? I can only imagine Walter has the best interests of the club and for him to be on the brink says something. I think we need him temporarily in a higher role with the right guidance. Mather has said about as much as Traynor since getting his position. Too many silent men. Im not saying everything should be publicised but fans are just totally confused when it should be a time when we are moving forward.

The Real PapaBear 0
If Walter quits Rangers...I don't even want to think about it. The next thing you'll hear is that the club is discovered ten years later living in a house in Ohio. There are only two people we can trust and the other one is managing the team. Take them away and we'd be as well handing the keys to Ibrox in to Janefield Street

Not a big fan of the term "Rangers men", but we certainly need some of those rather than people who just want to do business. These professionals are also needed, but I wouldn't mind getting some of those lads in who got an emotional connection to the club.

the gunslinger 3,366
In the sun Walter Smith in threat to quit Rangers as new crisis grips boardroom By ANDY DEVLIN Published: 8 minutes ago 0 RANGERS legend Walter Smith threatened to QUIT Ibrox last night as the club lurched into another boardroom crisis. Smith dropped the bombshell news after fellow Gers directors passed a vote of no confidence in chairman Malcolm Murray. A source said: “He is unhappy at the state of affairs in the club. This is as close as he’s come to leaving.” It’s believed fans’ favourite Smith, 65 — who led the Light Blues to 21 trophies over two spells as manager — has grown sick of the problems engulfing the club. He has told those at the top he is seriously considering walking away. The latest blow for the Division Three champs came after a board meeting on Monday where members made it clear they wanted Ayrshire-born Murray gone. It’s thought they object to him because he was appointed by ex-Ibrox chief Charles Green. And it is believed he won a stay of execution when Green — still the largest single shareholder — voted for him to stay. The Yorkshireman quit Gers last month after we revealed his links to disgraced former owner Craig Whyte. It is thought he took part in Monday’s board meeting via conference call — leaving many on the board fuming that he still calls the shots. As a result, another crisis meeting was held yesterday. And Murray is now on borrowed time. If he chooses to stay, insiders say the directors will call an EGM and put a resolution to the shareholders in a bid to force him out. No announcement about the vote has been made to the Stock Exchange. Last night the club refused to comment.
