while thats true green was already guilty. it was only a matter of how much guilt. the investigation is vital to cleanse us of doubt and uncertainty over the ongoing ramifications of the matter.

i guess people are just pissed green is still involved when we could have got rid weeks ago. that will no doubt die down after green goes and i hope we can keep murray. though it seems we have a board thats trustworthy.

the real pressing issue is finding the correct ceo.

Fair point GS in that this investigation wasnt about proving guilt but rather about proving that there are no further ties with Whyte.

Green is still a director and therefore has a vote. Currently the only position he has terminated is CEO, right ? So if he was elected to the board then unless that election is predicated upon the position of CEO then he will still be a director until such time as his termination is effective (end of the month apparently). So I dont see why people should be quite so upset or surprised by it.

I personally dont want to risk the club's future paying more than we have.

I think that's a different debate on a different topic. I haven't seen anyone say the contrary and especially me. The point is I'd like the best team we can AFFORD that is able to almost guarantee the league title. Nobody is advocating spending more than we have.

seems like the board wanted to sack green but mm wanted this investigation instead.

its hard to be critical of mm even if this finds nothing as it seems like it was vital to me even at 500k.

i hope he stays personally. a chairman who does things the right way would be a real bonus.

He made fatal errors in letting Green stay a board member and in letting the placeman Mather on the board and become COO and interim CEO.

But that isnt to say what you want is the best solution.

The club could still win the league with a lower cost team, thereby saving money for either better players or increased wages when it is necessary.

We can AFFORD the second most expensively assembled team in Scotland. But I would prefer that we spend the money NECESSARY to get out of SFL2 - which, undoubtedly, would NOT require us to have the 2nd highest wage bill in Scotland. As I said previously, when we hit SFL1 is the time to really start assembling a team ready to challenge for the SPL in their first crack at it again.

Example, if we can AFFORD playing salaries, including transfers, of say 10 million a season - would you prefer that we hit that figure in SFL2, or would you prefer to spend, say, 5 million in SFL2 thereby giving you 5 million of savings which can be earmarked for SFL1 and/or SPL. Now, obviously neither of us can guarantee winning promotion - but we SHOULD be able to assemble a squad paying less than the 2nd highest wages in the country.

What you are saying is that you would like to spend as much as possible within our means. Which is fair enough. However, I would prefer we spend the minimum necessary to get out of SFL2 and any cost savings can then be used for strengthening in SFL1.

I just dont see the need to spend whatever we can afford - that is akin to someone spending the money in their savings account because they can afford it, only to see that their electricity, phone bills etc have now gone up and they cant pay the bills.... best to spend what you NEED to spend and save some for a rainy day - at least in my opinion.

well i think many or all wanted to suspend him pending the investigation. or to sack him and not do it.

seems murray wanted to go this way. can't say i disagree with murray. as you know i am no fan of green but you have to do things right.

cant see them lasting long if the board is so determined to get rid of murray simply for keeping them.

I thought 'guilt' was related to dealings with Whyte beyond that CVA period.

whyte brining him to the table in the first place was more than enough to see his time at rangers finish.

indeed so were the complaints from tennents and gamers.

nothing in this report can make it wrong that he left it can only tell us how bad things were.
