Imran Ahmad has left the club - details to be confirmed

MONEYMAN Imran Ahmad will quit Rangers as it emerged he and Charles Green have been reported to fraud cops.

Commercial director Ahmad, 39, faced pressure to stand down after we exposed his links to former Light Blues owner Craig Whyte.

It is believed the Ibrox powerbroker — who earns £350,000 a year and owns £1.32million of club shares — will walk after he thrashes out a mega-bucks deal.

Last night a source said: “His time at Rangers is up. He has agreed to go.”

Meanwhile lawyers for the Worthington Group — which has a stake in a business owned by fans’ hate figure Whyte — have reported former Gers chief executive Green, 59, and his right-hand man Ahmad to police.

The firm announced on the AIM stock exchange yesterday that they have passed on evidence to the Serious Fraud Office in London.

They said: “During the course of the company’s due diligence process, relating to its purchase of a stake in Law Financial, information has been discovered relating to the conduct of Charles Green and Imran Ahmad.

“This has today been reported to the Serious Fraud Office. The shares in Rangers purportedly owned by Green and Ahmad will also be the subject of this claim.”

Under-fire Green — who admitted calling Ahmad his “Paki friend” — quit the Division Three champions on Friday.

We told how Whyte paid £137,000 into the bank account of Ahmad’s mum to mask his role in the club’s takeover.

The revelations led to an internal investigation at Ibrox and demands from the SFA for answers. A Serious Fraud Office spokesman last night refused to “confirm or deny” the referral.

im starting to see why dave king is willing to pay more for rangers now than he would have had to if he had invested with green.

never made sense to me before.

I just hope you are right. I've always wanted Dave King there. Regardless of what you think of him he is one of the very few guys around who bleeds blue blood, has real cash, and is not out to shaft us. And as has been proven in the past, to the tune of £20m, he is not afraid to invest his cash in the Club. Also he is extremely trusted within the Club. He was also the first man on the scene back in Feb 2012 to see what the hell was going on (link below) . He has patiently and dilligently waited his chance, and hasn't wasted his time while waiting. His legal bods have been plugging away at the SFA all the while trying to get him clearance as 'fit and proper' or whatever the hell they term it. So he is obviously very serious.
