Police Raids Over Club Purchase

Recommended Posts

Why did they not go for the full 27 million he borrowed? That leaves Whyte with a pay packet of 10 million.

Possibly multiple/separate deals & transactions.

Initial deal for £18m, then followed by another "advance" of several more millions......

Was anyone at the SFA or SPL knowledgeable about any of this?

If so why didn't they either stop it or report it to the authorities?

There were people saying that Lawwell and Regan/Riley(?) knew about Whyte not paying PAYE/VAT and kept their mouths shut. Why HMRC kept their mouths shut when Whyte ran up the debt that plunged us into admin is another question that needs to be answered. But (aimed at the media: ) why asking the interesting questions if we can sling mud at Rangers instead?

IIRC, it was our very own Jim Traynor who when still at the Record stated that he had informed the SFA.

James Traynor and Keith Jackson told the SFA. They both said it on a radio Scotland podcast.

I don't see how its criminal to know. its not like hmrc didn't know.

SFA looks on as a member is being ruined by its owner? I for one would assume that SFA rules of membership et al, or even some sort of gentlement's honour would have got the high-ups into action? If only for the sake of the game?

BTW, Daily Mhail in another headline shocker ...

Rangers crisis deepens with police conducting searches over Whyte's controversial purchase from Sir David

By David Kent

Which crisis? It's rather on the contrary, the crisis deepens for those who ran the oldoc into trouble, which is in fact good news for Rangers FC.

But hey, Kent know his stuff ...

Mr Whyte bought the club for £1 in 2011 while a large tax liability was in dispute. The club went into administration less than a year later and was eventually liquidated when Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) rejected a Company Voluntary Arrangement over an outstanding tax bill.

... and possibly visits a new club at Ibrox these days.
