McInnes set for Aberdeen?

Recommended Posts

Aberdeen will announce their new manager early next week, with Derek McInnes expected to be confirmed as Craig Brown's replacement.

Brown revealed earlier this month that he will be moving into a director's role at Pittodrie.

Former Scotland boss Craig Levein was linked with the Pittodrie post, while Ross County rejected an approach to speak to Derek Adams.

McInnes was previously in charge at St Johnstone and Bristol City.

After moving from player to manager in Perth, McInnes led the Saints to First Division title success and promotion to the Scottish Premier League.

He joined Bristol City in 2011 and kept them in the Championship at the end of last season.

However, a run of poor results led to the 41-year-old former Rangers, Toulouse and West Brom midfielder being sacked in January.

Should negotiations progress over the weekend, Aberdeen could make an announcement as early as Monday.

Certainly been named a few times as a future Rangers manager. Will be good to see how he does there and if he has potential to be future boss. Quite a few ex players in the SPL with Butcher, McCall and Brown also.
