rangers fans fall into a trap

Recommended Posts

Guys, there was a full scale riot in Dundee. Running battles in the concourse, seats and property damaged, fans pissing in the stands etc etc etc and we're front page news for singing about the Pope?

Come on now...

Look we KNOW the media is skewed. We KNOW it's against us. So why should we give them what they want? This inherent bile is unhealthy. We call them bitter and obsessed yet maybe we should be looking inward first.

What's the motivation to be perfect? Will we be left alone and respected then? Of course not so what we have is a situation in which people know what they are doing will bring negative press etc but don't care. There's no incentive to toe the line.

It's not ideal but then we are in not in and ideal situation. Not even close.

LOL. So you're suggesting banning songs that aren't currently a problem (Derry's Walls) and keeping songs that are (Follow Follow). Wow.

you are not stupid so i assume you are deliberately missing the point.

'currently' is a key word you use.

i dont believe any song should be banned, human beings should know what is acceptable and what is not. football fans should know what is relevant to supporting their team and what is not. rangers fans do know what gets us into trouble and what doesnt. just because a song has not caused a storm yet and i stress yet does not make that song ok to sing at the football.

its not about being perfect. its about doing the right thing, by yourself and by your club. we cant fight their mock offense, legally and politically they will now always have the upper hand.

The incentive is to not be a twat surely? Do you need an incentive to not be insulting? Isn't that a tad childish?

I just can't get worked up about singing songs at a football match. There is too much in this world we should worry about, rather than songs.

There should be no talk of banning certain songs, we need to get together and make sure they just fade away naturally. The more we ban and censor, the more they will go for , and it will end up more than just words and songs.

NOT AN INCH, perhaps belongs to a time gone by, but the more we give the more they will take.

I believe I know what songs get us into trouble and what doesn't, but you are calling for a lot of songs that don't get us into trouble and probably never will to be stopped being sung. I disagree with that. Don't see how that is missing the point.

I don't see the logic in stopping singing a song just because there's some remote chance that it may cause a storm in the future. I guess we should stop singing 3 little birds and Penny Arcade by that logic?

TBF didn't someone decide the Hokey Cokey was sectarian and try to complain about us singing it? I think for me that was when I realised just how far they would go...
