Why do we still have transfer embargo?

Recommended Posts

4pm 20/11/12 triumphant tuesday.. We win the FTTT.

That only left Whyte's non-payment of N.I & PAYE as the only outstanding big monies owed by oldco (CG paid all football debts).

That brings me to one of the two questions we badly need answered:-

Is it the case that the SFA knew Whyte wasn't paying N.I./PAYE around Sept/Oct 2011 and took no action (as JT may prove to be the case at some point in near future) isn't what happened thereafter a result of their negligence and hence their responsibility ? They then did nothing til Whyte took us into administration on 14th Feb 2012 when he got his lifeban from Scottish football & fined £250k & Rangers got fined £160k. For what reason is this embargo still in place if it is the fault of the SFA ?

(the other question is, of course, how Whyte bought Rangers but that's for another day and LBG and their two bhoys in charge at the time)

Im guessing it is because we agreed to it in order to allow the SPL to transfer our license to the SFL???

Its an absolute scandal and one we should be pushing but its the one embargo we can probably get by with. We will have won this league by next month then we can start to look at players. We will have enough in the squad to get us by until the christmas period after which players who have signed will be fresh and ready to play in January.

I believe we caved into their pathetic sanctions. They called our bluff and we fell for it.

Our future was in their hands, whatever people say about us being needed they had no obligation to transfer the membership, and negotations went up to about 24 hours before the Brechin match.

Don't think so but they may have. Either way, had we not git the licence before the brechin match, it wouldnt have been our fault. we should have prepared as normal for the match with the ball in theur court to allow us to play. We could have shown them up for what they are.

Well maybe but I doubt Ally would have wanted the footballing future played with like that, after so many months of this and that everyone including fans really just wanted to get playing again.

The embargo is unjust of course but we had the time to create a group good enough to win at this level comfortably so it's not done us an awful lot of harm.
