How can we be running at a loss due to the wage bill?

Recommended Posts

would surely have made business sense mate? frankly the money we are shelling out in wages at this level and what we are getting in return for them doesnt compute.

3 years is a long time in football. the players we could have signed to get us out of division 3 and 2 and save us a fortune would have been moved on by the time we are back at the top.

there are flair players out there mate on lower wages than the ian blacks and dean shiels. we played against a little genius a few weeks back. easton. he was very exciting and is the kind of player i would pay to watch. gary teale, a flair player for this level who would not have commanded the 7 grand a week templeton and black did. kenny mclean another.

Fair enough point mate. We didn't have much time though. It's all fine and well to point out players who'be looked the part in a game against us, but are they playing at that level week in week out and if they were would we have known about it? Were we even scouting at this level?

probably not and i doubt it. our scouting is a joke.

Well, with the amount of time we had available to replenish the squad, we didn't have a lot of options.

We could have gone for cheaper players who were only good for this level, but what's the point in that?

It's not as if most players will accept a 1 year deal either so if we're planning to be back in the SPL in 3 years, then a balance has to be found.

Fans are complaining as it is about a lack of flair in the side. What would they have been like with the cheaper option?

Actually I think there are not many players in our squad who are ready to play SPL or SFL1 level to be honest. At least not at this point.

They are traitors whether the wages leaving helped or not, they were wanted to stay and walked out due to their own greed.

i doubt green really wanted them to stay mate. a £30m wage bill would have sunk us again. of course he has to say otherwise atm as he fights for compo.

Five of our additions had pretty strong SPL track records, the players we kept obviously have as well and I don't think McKay and Macleod would look out of place

End of the day there's no way we can prove it for sure either way what was in Green's head.

But it doesn't change my view that they walked away for their own greed, and if any of them are ever welcomed back to Ibrox again i'll be considering my future.
