UCF2008 0 Posted January 24, 2013 Share Posted January 24, 2013 would surely have made business sense mate? frankly the money we are shelling out in wages at this level and what we are getting in return for them doesnt compute. 3 years is a long time in football. the players we could have signed to get us out of division 3 and 2 and save us a fortune would have been moved on by the time we are back at the top. there are flair players out there mate on lower wages than the ian blacks and dean shiels. we played against a little genius a few weeks back. easton. he was very exciting and is the kind of player i would pay to watch. gary teale, a flair player for this level who would not have commanded the 7 grand a week templeton and black did. kenny mclean another. Fair enough point mate. We didn't have much time though. It's all fine and well to point out players who'be looked the part in a game against us, but are they playing at that level week in week out and if they were would we have known about it? We could have gone for cheaper players who were only good for this level, but what's the point in that? It's not as if most players will accept a 1 year deal either so if we're planning to be back in the SPL in 3 years, then a balance has to be found. Fans are complaining as it is about a lack of flair in the side. What would they have been like with the cheaper option? Actually I think there are not many players in our squad who are ready to play SPL or SFL1 level to be honest. At least not at this point. End of the day there's no way we can prove it for sure either way what was in Green's head.
