Fran Stella for the offski....

Recommended Posts

McLeish hardly ever spent transfer fees and still gets slaughtered for his signings to this day.

They say there's no such thing as a free transfer in football which is probably about right when wages, signing on fees, agent fees etc come into it.

Aye I bet Stella and his agent ripped the arse right oot us with the signing on fee...Come on lad. He was a cheap mistake in a time of desperation like nothing we have ever known.

None of us know what he cost, but it is football.

You'll have to forgive me being a bit edgy about this kind of thing, it's just after all that we went through i'm horrified at the thought of any penny being wasted.

I think you're taking it too far. When you're scared of making small mistakes, you will most certainly start to make big ones.

get used to it. There is not one single professional manager who hasnt "wasted" money.

If he had at least got a couple of games in the first team under his belt and wasn't up to it fair enough, but to sign the guy then never give him a chance or even a sniff just to punt him in January, smells like a manager who panicked a little and just bought to get faces in the door. Now before you start calling me an Ally basher he won't be the first or the last manager to panic but he was heading into Div3 with a capable squad they could've just let the boy try his luck elsewhere.
