many people I've met from ROI cannot understand what the fuss is about regards this. The original ******s were not exclusively RC. There were protestants among them too. They were seeking Irish idependence not on the grounds of any one religion or otherwise.

It's only in this country where the 'easily offended' in conjunction with the usual suspects in the media have created the sectarian industry where it seems to have caused such furore.

there seems to be an element within our own support who want to do the dirty work for the enemy as well which is really sad and goes to prove we will never be united as one as a support.

doesnt matter where i was sitting.

Given you stated categorically that nobody sang the offensive word and that BD countered that and you held steadfast I think it DOES matter where you were sitting... because you are effectively calling BD a liar.

I dont see why we cant admit that we arent perfect. Admitting your own faults is half the battle in correcting them.

oh try telling those who think ally is a football manager then please! :D i was yanking bluedells chain, maybe it was in his vicinity, its not something i think we should be shouting about on internet forums though. those admissions and chats should be kept to supporters meetings. i thought he of all people would know better.

Nonsense.

If the offensive words were being sung by people at the game then the dirty work is being done by our own, not the enemy. And by that I mean those singing it, not those outing them.

Or maybe you think that it is OK for us to just bury our head in the sand, state that it wasnt being sung (when it was), get the ban lifted... and then go back into the same vicious circle of the song being sung, getting banned, clun being fined etc etc. Because if it is still being sung when the song is banned.... then what do you honestly think will happen if the ban was ever lifted ? That all of a sudden we would clean up the song because the ban is lifted ? Not a chance !

i believe it should be ok for us to sing whatever the hell we like. i think bowing to pressure from bigots is unforgivable and has went a long way to where we are today. "at the back of the bus" so to speak!

how serious do you think any punishment would get for singing a song? really? if we had any backbone we would be standing up for ourselves but no, we have people within our own support who want to grass on our own and discuss such things in public.

Which is fair enough. But when a particular song is banned then you have to tackle that from a position of strength, and mindless defiance isnt that position of strength. Unless of course you want the club fined again, or worse. We need to be smart in how we tackle it, and the mindless defiance, followed by blinded denial, isnt the right tactic IMO.

Really ? Did UEFA not threaten us with the closure of Ibrox for a European game if we sang it after it being banned and us fined ?
