Want to use an ipad to view and edit existing excel and word documents. Anyone know if I can do that and what app is best? Completely new to this. Frankie 8,562
Have a look here for now but MS Office should be coming to iOS in the New Year... http://www.zdnet.com/top-ipad-office-apps-winter-2012-edition-7000008515/
Bluedell 5,624
I use Quickoffice. It is pretty good for Word. A bit cumbersome for Excel but is usable.
craig 5,199
You CAN buy MS Office for iPad but it is expensive..... One advantage of using MS Office for iPad (according to my IT guys at work) is that, strangely, Apple actually have a newer version of MS Office than Windows desktops and laptops (although I bought the Mrs the MS Surface for Xmas and that has the new MS Office on it too...) Quickoffice is decent enough. Or try to get a copy of MS Office and the key for it online to save you buying.... I never said that though

Zappa 0
If you really wanted to you can already run Windows and Microsoft applications such as MS Office apps on your iPad. There's actually loads of different ways to do it. I'm not taking the piss here and I'm not saying you'll necessarily find a perfect solution that's free of charge, but type "run windows on ipad" into Google and see what comes up folks.
