If such a tape exists under the supposed circumstances obviously it has no legal worth whatsoever, just a bunch of people talking about how much they hate Rangers.

There is absolutely no reason for it not to be produced.

It would be left for everyone to decide if it was true and accurate.

IMHO, the media has not only the right to publish this stuff, they have an obligation. And during our administration period they milked this "obligation" of theirs to the core. Where did they get all the HMRC and other sensitive info from?

 

As for being "illegal" ... as I said before, some German federal states buy (occasionally) CDs containing data about Germans doing active tax evasion by utilizing Swiss bank accounts. The Swiss are not happy, the German government (oh wonder) is not really happy (and are thinking about a law against this ... essentially offering a deal to the Swiss to tax the German folk in their stead ... a very lenient tax, of course) ... but the federal states buy these CDs nonetheless (Euro 3m) and have raked in approx. Euro 250m in tax money per CD. Was that illegal? By default maybe. Does anyone care ... especially the common tax payer? Nope.

Same here. If the Sun et al have the info, they have an obligation to publish it. Will anyone dare to challenge them in court et al about it? And even if, the Sun can play the Freedom of Press card and those who partook in the tape will lose their jobs and reputation nonetheless. Not to mention that the Sun would be the first commendable paper of the "new era" of Scottish journalism and football.
