POLICE AND fans have praised each other following Saturdayâ??s sell-out clash between Montrose and Rangers.

Links Park played host to a six-goal thriller and more than 3,000 Rangers supporters travelled to watch the encounter.

The game went off without incident and police were quick to praise the travelling Rangers fans for their behaviour.

Sergeant Andy Wilson said: â??Well done on excellent match. Great fans. Awesome atmosphere.â?

Rangers fans also took to online forums to praise Tayside Police for their approach to the match.

Meanwhile, Montrose have apologised to Rangers following a row over the description of the Glasgow club in the match programme.

The introduction to the team in the programme read: â??The Rangers are a newco of the now defunct Glasgow Rangers.

â??Currently top of the table, they will be hoping to go on to seal the title and clinch their first silverware.â?

Angry Gers fans emailed the club with some calling for a boycott of the next game at Links Park unless there was an apology.

Well there must have been a fair contingent from UB/BO at Montrose and not a bit of bother, makes you wonder if the common denominator is the Glasgow police when it comes to the trouble in BF1.

There has to be something in it?,who knows
