kuznetsov 0
Don't want to pour cold water on the possible signing of undoubtedly a very good player but...we not short of young wide quality (McKay, Temp, Aird, even Telfer in the future) so what would Halliday briong? Rather see 2 new centre backs. if he is better than what we have it should be encouraged and one of the ones you mentioned should be shown the door. weed out the dross and bring in the cream.
der Berliner 4,051
Don't want to pour cold water on the possible signing of undoubtedly a very good player but...we not short of young wide quality (McKay, Temp, Aird, even Telfer in the future) so what would Halliday briong? Rather see 2 new centre backs. He's been playing as a left winger/left sided striker and has bags of experience, for his age of 21. McKay is a raw diamond and a joy to behold at times. Templeton is good too, if fit. Aird and Telfer are even rawer than McKay, who can actually play on the right hand side or as a striker too. Having even more young and classy options would go down well with this Bear. And the latter does not expect that we are not looking at every department, despite Faure, Cribari and Perry returning from injury and Goian and Bocanegra coming back.

kuznetsov 0
Let me guess McKay? mckay is not dross, he is on fire and has shown he has potential despite my early reservations about him. he should certainly be starting ahead of the likes of little and shiels. i would look to sell little if ally isnt going to play him up front.
ian1964 10,831
RANGERS are planning another swoop for St Johnstone star Murray Davidson. Gers gaffer Ally McCoist will make a fresh move for long term target Davidson in January. Gers failed with a £150,000 bid for the talented midfielder in July last year. McCoist has continued to monitor Davidson, 24, who is out of contract in the summer, and now hopes to get him on a free. Davidson, and other Gers targets like Aberdeen’s Ryan Fraser, Motherwell’s Jamie Murphy and Middlesbrough’s Andy Halliday would be able to sign pre-contracts in January, but could not formally sign for Gers until September next year because of their transfer embargo. Ibrox gaffer McCoist will start speaking to his targets in January when they enter the final six months of their current deals. But despite being able to offer them more cash than they are currently on, McCoist will have to do an impressive sales pitch because of Gers’ unique situation. However, potential new signings would be able to star for Rangers as TRIALISTS before signing, if they agree to do so. Under current SFA rules only players who were unemployed on the final day of the transfer window can be registered out of season. That means any new Gers stars will have to claim they are jobless until the transfer ban is lifted in order to satisfy the criteria. Rangers have suggested they could employ the players in another capacity, but that is risky following Livingston’s controversial signing of Hassan Kachloul. McCoist will be able to call upon his new men early though, as SFL rules allow each team to play two unregistered players in any game for a maximum of three appearances per player. If new Scotland cap Davidson and Gers’ other targets are tempted by a switch to Ibrox they will have to sit tight until September 1 to formalise their move. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...#ixzz2FGGnPsWG
UCF2008 0
what would Halliday briong? Rather see 2 new centre backs. Despite our current shortage at CB, we've got 3 out injured plus 2 internationals out on loan. If we were minus 5 players in any other area of the field we'd be in serious trouble. If this lad's been performing well at left back then that's a position that we definitely could do with some cover / competition.
Frankie 8,843
Linked with a variety of decent players over the last week or two from Davidson and Halliday to Murphy and Hateley. I'd be happy with them all but not sure we'll get any.
Gazza_8 233
Someone on FF is saying the Hateley deal is done. He'll run down his contract with Motherwell and officially become a Rangers player on Sept 1st.
