ian1964 10,780
RANGERS manager Ally McCoist has added unsettled Aberdeen whizzkid Ryan Fraser to his transfer wish-list. SunSport understands that the 18-year-old winger is one of McCoistâ??s targets as he looks to beef up his squad next season. And thatâ??s despite the Gers being just a few months into a year-long SFA signing embargo. They canâ??t register anyone over the next two transfer windows, having to wait until September 1. But that isnâ??t putting McCoist off. SunSport understands the Gers boss and chief scout Neil Murray are pro-active in looking at players whose deals are up next summer, with a view to pre-contracts. Pint-sized Fraser â?? just 13 starts in two years â?? falls into that category and he left Dons manager Craig Brown stunned last week by rejecting the offer of a new deal. That alerted McCoist who wants new faces for pre-season so they can hit the ground running the instant they are officially registered. They are free to talk to Fraser and his agent Jon McLeish, ironically son of Aberdeen legend Alex. Rangers would have to agree a compensation fee due to Fraserâ??s age. But itâ??s reckoned that would only initially cost them £250,000 with add-ons likely. But Gers face competition, with Premier League sides Swansea and Wigan tracking the Dons babe while Huddersfield Town are also in the race and Celtic could make a move.
forlanssister 3,114
Would he really offer any more than MacKay and Aird or is our interest more in the vein of Goodwillie? Edited December 10, 2012 by forlanssister

forlanssister 3,114
Young players seems to be the model going forward. Indeed and Fraser is no better than what we already have in that respect. For some strange reason we'll be associated with many young guns in the next fortnight, f*&k knows why eh?

As we should be, shouldn't sign players for the sake of it of course but plenty of under 18s should certainly be looked at. Heck we can even have them in our league squads as trialists.
