CRO - Worth Every Penny

i think some of your figures might be a bit off bill. either that or your adding bonuses to bains and lawwell and not the others.

By next May Rangers will likely have £50 million of cash at bank and be sitting pretty on top of £100 million freehold property.

this bit also seems wildly optimistic.

The figures are from the club

Share issue plus season ticket money I believe

The figures I saw earlier from the prospectus suggest that they collectively get paid more than Bain did. Or was Bain paid an astronomical sum more than what it already was ?

Also, to downplay Lawell's salary is folly too. They may be playing in front of an empty stadia but they are SPL Champions, top of the league, in last 16 of CL and with a reasonably healthy balance sheet. Folly to just ridicule his salary and use only one negative as justification.

My question to Charles Green is where do we find the finances to compete when back at the top table ? Will the investments he talks about as "revenue generating" be turning profit to help provide financing for the squad ? Because it seems that much of the share issue proceeds will be spent on stadium repairs and investments (which is fine by me) but would like to know what the longer term financing is going to look like to ensure we can compete.

I dont think we will have 50 mill in the bank either Bill. It seems that much of the funds from the share issue will be spent - they will want to get those stadium upgrades done sooner rather than later. You also have to suspect that the ST monies are being used to fund the wages, salaries and overheads too.

I just cant imagine we will have 50 mill in the bank next May. I know the 100 mill isnt your figure Bill but the property RFC own is only worth as much as anyone is prepared to pay for it - and no way is it worth 100 million.

Time will tell but the board will have to pull some rabbits out of the hat to justify that they are indeed "worth every penny".

Getting a compliant surveyor to place an unrealistic value on a bunch of property (without even seeing the deeds ffs!) is merely a trick learned from a previous custodian.
