Little: We owe the fans a trip to Hampden

Recommended Posts

ANDY LITTLE wants to blaze a trail to Hampden â?? and reward Rangers fans with Scottish Cup glory.

In a turbulent year no Gers supporter will ever forget, the Ulsterman has been amazed by the loyalty shown by the Light Blues faithful.

Through administration and the subsequent liquidation, they have continued to back Ally McCoist and his players.

Now hitman Little, set to start against Elgin tomorrow, wants to say thanks by firing them to the final.

The Gers star insisted: â??With the Rangers support behind us anything is possible.

â??Iâ??d love to get back to Hampden in the Scottish Cup and it would be reward for the fans for the loyalty theyâ??ve shown.

â??It would be great to give them a day out there and I donâ??t see why we canâ??t. There has been positivity at the club since March.

â??Itâ??s been unbelievable when you consider all that has gone on â?? and itâ??s all come from the fans.

â??The atmosphere has been just incredible in every single home game. It used to be the case where the fans got on your back if you went a goal down.

â??But they are right with us now. Itâ??s the best atmosphere Iâ??ve ever known at the club because everyone is pulling together.

â??Behind the scenes things have gone well for us in the last week or so and on the park I think the team is clicking more.

â??It was always going to take a while because it was a new team the manager had to throw together.

â??It wasnâ??t down to us under-estimating anyone, we just needed time.â? Gersâ?? Third Division clash with Elgin was postponed last week after the Highlanders over-sold tickets for the match.

Little admitted: â??We havenâ??t played in a wee while. It was unfortunate circumstances last week and the lads were all disappointed.

â??But this is the Scottish Cup and itâ??s a competition weâ??re determined to build some momentum in.

â??We were gutted to go out of the Ramsdens Cup and the League Cup for that reason.

â??We regard the cup competitions this year as a good chance for us to get some silverware.â?

Little had helped himself to eight league goals before a stress fracture in his foot put him on the sidelines back in September.

But heâ??s now fully recovered and desperate to make up for lost time. He said: â??I had waited four years for my chance at Rangers and, while I had options in England, I was always going to stay.

â??This is where I want to play my football. I got my chance at the end of last season and I wanted the chance to build on that.

â??I felt I was doing that before my injury. I was playing with the injury at first but it came to a point where I couldnâ??t bear it any longer. That was devastating to be honest.

â??I had been getting a few goals at the start of the season so it was disappointing to pick up the injury when I did.

â??But that is just part and parcel of football and Iâ??m back fit now and raring to go.

â??We know it will be a difficult match against Elgin but itâ??s one we are looking forward to.â?
