ian1964 10,578 Posted November 29, 2012 Share Posted November 29, 2012 Lifted from FF: The SPL today announced a supporter leasing scheme, where all members of the SPL will encourage their own supporters to fill the grounds of all participating clubs on behalf of the governing body. Mr N. Doncaster will be inviting all supporters of all teams to register and then the SPL will alloca...te them to each ground each week. Participants will be kitted out in appropriate club colours and given song sheets of the traditional â??banter and anthemsâ?? of their allotted team. The SPL has also asked the UK and Scottish Governments to include the scheme in their apprenticeship policies, with the hope that unemployed youngsters can be paid £20 on top of their JSA to do this work on behalf of the struggling but self styled Elite League. The scheme has been criticized in some quarters, a Mr N.Lennon who runs some farm outbuildings in the city of Glasgow said he was... â??annoyed that this scheme was being proposed now, when no one...at the SPL has bothered yet to look into my recent complaint that a conspiracy of referees and other match officials had kidnapped over 6,000 of my own fan base.â?? On the good new front a spokesman for the SFL said their league had â??never been so livelyâ?? and described how since the inclusion of Rangers Football Club attendances were booming, so much so that a recent Elgin City V Rangers match had to be cancelled because too many people wished to see it. A spokeperson for Elgin City said he had heard of a Club from Ireland who play their home matches in Glasgow due to an historical oversight who had often pretended less people were at a match than had been officially announced, so he thought he would try it as well but failed, partly due to that same club from Ireland now reversing that policy and announcing crowds far bigger than the actual number in attendance 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
