Arguments At Half-Time Yesterday

Recommended Posts

I find this bit embarrassing:

We are inexperienced as a team and thatâ??s why we are giving away chances at times but itâ??s a great learning curve.

â??Now weâ??re top of the league we can push on. Our away form has not been good enough but if we treat Clyde like a cup final and get a positive result we can kick on from there.â?

Particularly the first line.

Glad the players have a bit of fight and desire, even though it's not always apparent on the field.

Faure had a mince game. he kept losing his man.

I think Aird got it a bit tight in the first half, a poor shot and a poor cross and Shiels was jumping down his throat. After that his head dropped and it seemed to me that our left wing weren't communicating with each other. Shiels kept running through the middle when Aird was looking for him to go wide and then the one time Aird went to go through the middle Shiels did go wide, making Aird look a bit lost.

I don't think he is a bad player but he needs to learn not to be afraid of passing. Even if the pass doesn't come off he needs to attempt it and then chase it if it doesn't pay off.

Hutton had a great game, more so in the first half. His composure and eye for a pass impress me, especially at his age. He should be first pick for central midfield IMO.

Also, it's becoming apparent to me that you are allowed to foul Ian Black as much as you want but as soon as he comes into contact with anyone it's a free kick. McCoist should maybe have mentioned this in his post-match interview.

Completely agree. His eye for a forward, midfield-splitting pass is exceptional. Unfortunately, the first touches from Jig and Shiels were not exceptional when Hutton split the midfield with a pass to them on several occassions.

Not sure why Faure keeps getting a game to be honest.

Perhaps McCoists wants to turn him into a utility player or test a 3-at-the-back with him. He's a centre-half by trade, can also play defensive midfield and should be used accordingly. Dunno what was wrong with Argyirou, mayhaps he got a knock. That all said, we do not know how Faure plays in training, or Argyriou for that matter. If e.g. the latter isn't interested - much like Hutton was, apparently - he might get dropped for that. All ifs and buts. Cole is another candidate for the right side of defence, but only returned from injury this week methinks. One would think that McCoist and Co. try and test their tactics and players according to opposition and venue ... and haven't found a decent formula just yet.

I have to laugh at times , some of these players that are mentioned as being pish or rotten , are actually that good , that if you walked down Bucghanan street you would walk past nearly all of the young boys and the new foreigners and not even know them .

We are talking about 2nd year pros and young foreign players here , can we just not give them a wee bit of time
