Stealing Titles and rejoining the SPL

Only problem with not entering the SPL is we wouldn't be able to compete in the Champions League which is where the club should be. I can't see it coming to that though. Even if they try and strip our titles we will take the case to either the Court of Session or the CAS and it would be thrown out without hesitation. The charges simply do not stack up.

 

I would suggest that in 4 years time it will be very difficult for a Scottish team to qualify for the CL anyway, The UEFA match fixers are seeding the smaller countries out of it all together.

We can't take that defeatist attitude to it, the number of years we've competed in Europe is another proud record for our club.

If the qualification system remains as it is then it really shouldn't be impossible to reach the CL groups for Champions anyway, the likes of Malmo, Helsinki, Helsingborgs should certainly be beatable (even though we screwed it up). If you think that future seeding systems are going to make it much tougher then sobeit, i'd still rather have a go at it. Then there's the Europa League fall back, any Europe is much better than none even if the riches aren't the same, and you never know what can happen i.e. 2008.

 

I totally agree wiith the feelings towards the SPL but unless it collapses then there's no real chance of us getting back to what we were without competing in it. Ally McCoist will want to be managing Rangers back to the very top and Charles Green will want the club to be as profitable as possible, so I really can't see this suggestion of refusing to play in the SPL happening.

how will we play in the europe then? fans wont continue to throw money at a lower league club. to get back to where we belong we need to be playing in europe and we need the riches that go with it.

 

all this rejecting the spl when we get there nonsense is embarassing, the spl is scottish footballs top table and we need to be there to fulfill our club and our fans ambitions. simple as that.

europe is luck of the draw. the last time we were in the cl they all said that would be the last scottish team for decades, well celtic qualified very easily and we should have qualified last year as well. we need european football. one of my favourite parts of supporting rangers is playing against teams from other countries in european competitions.

I'm not sure that's the case due to the new Champions route to the group stage. We just have to be able to beat other marginalised countries' champions, and if we become seeded it's not too bad - Celtic had to beat Helsinki, and the year before, we had Malmo which while we lost, you'd have to expect us to beat them more often than not.

 

Our problem will be that we will return with a low coefficient and no seeding status and so will be more likely to get the better sides.

this stand of defiance will only last so long. a matters of months imo.

 

it was only now and again because our managers were hopeless. we have all the other ingredients to compete regularly. we are a european sized club and a club born and bred to compete with the best. ever decreasing in your mind, what a lack of ambition and confidence in our club. its not reality at all, its your poor opinion. frankly i find your lack of ambition and lack of respect for footballs pinnacle quite sad.

I'm not going anywhere either but plenty would get fed up if it isn't three promotions on the bounce, certainly crowds would end up well below this season.
