Leggat - New McCoist Blast At Rangers Haters

Recommended Posts

ALISTAIR McCOIST has once again proven that he is the true blue voice of Rangers.

The Rangers manager has spoken out against the sinister and insidious whispering campaign throughout Scottish football â?? and on the sports desks of certain Scottish newspapers â?? which is targeting players who sign for Rangers.

Plus those who have chosen not to walk out on the club in its hour of need.

Lee Wallace falls into that category and there were some voices raised in surprise when the left back refused to join the stampede of stars, which included Stevie Naismith and Kyle Lafferty, out of the Ibrox door as soon as the SPL door slammed shut in Rangers faces.

Now the anti Rangers brigade in the press and at other clubs have swung into full ranting after a number of other SPL stars decided to quit their also ran top flight outfits for the chance to play for Rangers.

Ian Black got pelters and then, more recently David Templeton, who left Hearts, was put in the firing line for leaving tiny Tynecastle and moving to impressive Ibrox.

In fact the whole simmering resentment and hatred of Rangers really exploded when Templeton signed on for Rangers.

With even Hearts making the sort of snide comments we have come to expect to seep like sewerage from Tynecastle under the Vladimir Romanov regime.

And that despite the fact the £800,000 Rangers handed over to Romanov will keep his wee club tottering on for another season.

In fact, it may be the difference between Hearts players getting their wages, either on time, or at all, in the coming months.

Therefore the fact of the matter is quite simply that Rangers, as they have done for years, continue to subsidise the Scottish Premier League also rans, despite the blind bigoted hatred from so many of those clubsâ?? supporters which led to them refusing to accept Rangers into their shady wee organisation.

And as sure as eggs are eggs and night follows day, hard on the heels of the Hearts sniping came a snide column from Scotland of Sundayâ??s Republic of Ireland born sports writer Tom English, sneering at Templeton for moving from Hearts to Rangers.

It is what we have come to accept from Tom English in the last few months since he became what many folk perceive to be Odious Creepâ??s mainstream mouthpiece.

Which is a shame, for Tom English is capable of exquisite writing and it was his ability to turn a phrase which branded the Irish-fest which swamps Parkhead when Celtic play at home as Paddywackery.

But in recent weeks it has seemed to some I have spoken to as though English is taking the opportunity to kick Rangers when they are down.

Certainly he and his increasingly marginalised and in-the-dark Odious Creep, give that impression in some of their Twitter exchanges.

Of course appearances can be deceptive, but that is how it looks.

Hearts, Tom Englishâ??s column, plus the tone of many questions directed at Alistair McCoist at press conferences have all added up and led to the Rangers manager querying the motives behind these attacks and attempts to set an anti Rangers agenda.

There is no doubt in my mind, after reading McCoistâ??s words carefully and knowing the man, he would not have gone down this road lightly.

It is only because of the overwhelming evidence which has built in recent weeks that Alistair McCoist has spoken out, questioning just what it is which lies behind these insidious attacks on Rangers, aimed at any player who has decided to sign on at Ibrox.

There are plenty of Rangers haters out there who are now angry at how well Rangers and Rangers supporters are coping with such reduced status.

It appears to me Alistair McCoist is well aware of this and will not tolerate the sick, snide sniping.

Whether it comes from wee clubs, subsidised by Rangers money, newspaper columnists or reporters asking smart alec questions at press conferences.

My guess is that we have not heard the last of this from the man who speaks for Rangers, manager Alistair McCoist.

......

AND....

AS was the case a week ago, there will be no new blog on Saturday or Sunday. But LeggoLand will be back with a bang on Monday morning.

If, as my old Scots Presbyterian Granny used to say, Iâ??m spared.

Templeton's departure from SPL to SFL3 was the main topic of Traynor's phone-in on Saturday. I don't blame Jambos for being miffed but what the Hell has it got to do with hibbees, dons, tics and st js? All yapping about greed, no ambition etc. One elegantly spoken Highland Gentleman put them all in their place by suggesting that DCT just wanted to play for Rangers and who wouldn't?

Traynor himself was careful to say that he did not necessarily hold the view that DCT was lacking in ambition and he was just putting the question. Why put the question on the agenda in the first place? But, wait. It was BBC Sportsound. Explains everything.

Good to see Leggo's still off the negativite, paranoid stuff.

Ambition isn't just about who you play against - it's also about who you play alongside, and who you play in front of. He'll be on telly more often than he would have been otherwise, he'll get to play his home games in front of a packed European-standard stadium, and he'll have excellent training facilities at his disposal.

To be fair to Traynor, he is picking up on subjects likely to be the biggest talking points. And given it was only the night before that DCT signed on the dotted line, it was to be expected really.

That aside, all it did was again show up for what they are, the short-sighted loudmouths who forced all their teams to vote against Rangers in the SPL votes. Hell mend them.

It may be the 3rd Division and any player wanting to play there is 'lacking ambition'...but it's RANGERS they're signing for for gods sake! The best club in the land.

And boy they are hurting now that they are slowly coming to terms with the fact that we are Rangers then, Rangers now, Rangers forever.
