Critical (and extremely busy) 14 days coming up!

Cup games will take care of themselves. Massively confident we'll beat QOTS and Forres. Motherwell might be a different story but with home advantage and if the defence can hold up Templeton, Sheils etc should see us through.

Really think we need a little run of league games too, to place us where we should be in the league. Don't like not being top in div 3 even at this early stage. Its embarrassing.

It's early days, but I think that generally our away games are going to be tough in this league even although it's SFL3 because Rangers going to Balmoor or Shielfield Park is a bit like Barca coming to Ibrox for these wee teams.

There's been a lot of talk about "every game is like a cup game" and similar comments, but in actual fact it's just the chance to be a giant killer that's propelling these teams to maybe up their game and try to beat us.

In fairness to the SFL3 teams though, I really think we should give them some recognition for the standard of football they play with very little money at their clubs because it's not bad at all. In fact, at times it's seemed almost as if we were still playing against an SPL team going by the standard of football coming from our opposition.

At times the football has been better than the SPhell it is just that the teams run out of steam a bit quicker. At Ibrox anyway.

Not only are some of the SFL3 teams better than some of us thought they would be, they are actually playing some really good football. We shouldn't be at all surprised by them playing decent football though, we should expect it. You just have to watch some of the football in England's 4th tier to see that some of these small teams can really play some cracking stuff and some of them have a cracking player or two as well.....

An alternate theory is that, rather than SFL team playing like an SPL team, we are playing like an SFL 3 team.....

Very possible and if the case needs to stop.

I kind of accepted the idea of Peterhead as a 'culture shock' etc but for the same thing to happen at Berwick was horrifying.

The thing that concerns me is how much of an impact that has on the small squad. We're fecked if we picked up 2 or 3 injuries to key players so the squad we do have has to be used well for the Ramsden and League cup games.

6 points in the league is a must. The cups are bonuses this season. This is still extremely early days in what will be a very long 16 months with no signings so as we grow stronger in 12 months time we can start to target cups. Promotion is by a country mile the top priority.

But all going well in the injury front, we should be winning all 5 games.

Were Hearts playing like a Junior team earlier this year when Talbot went to Tynecastle?

One off game and poor comparison. We have done it now in 3 consecutive away games. That is more of a trend than the Talbot game.
