amms 0
Ach, see, we were worried for nothing - http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/2160-the-future-boys THREE of Rangers’ most promising talents have pledged their long term futures to the club today. Lewis Macleod, Barrie McKay and Robbie Crawford have all agreed extended deals with the Light Blues following a promising start to the season. Macleod has started all eight games that Ally McCoist’s side has played this season while McKay has also featured at some stage in each of those outings. Crawford has been a regular on the subs bench, making four appearances in total, including his top team debut as a sub in the first match of the campaign against Brechin. 18-year-old Macleod and 19-year-old Crawford have both put pen to paper on contracts that will keep them with Scotland’s most successful club until the summer of 2017. Both have been with the club for a number of years, developing their talents at Auchenhowie and now have the opportunity to blossom in the first team. McKay, 17, has also pledged his future to the club for another five years after arriving from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2011. Both McKay and Macleod have represented Scotland at various youth levels, with each taking part in this week’s 2-1 defeat to the Netherlands at under-19 level. As you can see from our exclusive picture above, Ally McCoist is delighted to have secured the long term future of his trio of talented youngsters. Couple of points, where are the shirts and ties boys? I'd sell them for that alone, and Ally's phone is a thing of beauty.

DUDE 0
You have to love the sweatpants though. Gotta be comfortable when you sign a new deal right? Good move to show the boys appreciation and offer them a long term deal, that's how it's done.
ian1964 10,724
SFA chiefs have told Rangers to FORGET handing Barrie McKay a five-year deal. Hampden rules prevent clubs giving contracts of more than three years to players before their 18th birthday. Boss Ally McCoist must now decide whether to give 17-year-old McKay a shorter deal or delay the five-year one until his next birthday. The red tape blow comes just a day after Gers announced deals for McKay, Lewis MacLeod and Robbie Crawford. SFA registrations chief Sandy Bryson said: “They could, if they choose, enter a three-year contract for him just now and, when he turns 18 — on December 30 — offer him a longer one then if everyone is still agreeable to do so.” McCoist also wants to reward Lee McCulloch and Neil Alexander with new deals. Meanwhile, the SPL-appointed commission will start their hearing regarding alleged undisclosed payments by Gers on November 13. Charles Green has insisted he won’t take part in the probe, while claiming other SPL clubs have used EBTs. But an SPL statement said: “The SPL notes the recent statement by Charles Green. “Separately, we have seen reports regarding an EBT in relation to a former player of Celtic. The SPL has investigated the arrangements and documentation in that case and determined there is no evidence of a breach of SPL Rules. “The SPL has therefore decided no further action should be taken.” Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/feeds/smartphone/scotland/4535640/Gers-kids-deal-KO.html#ixzz26K77t14D

Blue Moon 1,291
From the official website. FOLLOWING a number of inaccurate reports in today’s newspapers, the Club can confirm it has agreed a long-term contract with Barrie McKay. Reports in today’s press suggested the SFA would reject McKay’s five-year deal as rules prevent players under the age of 18 from signing a contract of that length. For the avoidance of doubt, the Club is well aware of the rule and at no time confirmed Barrie had signed a five-year contract. Barrie has pledged his future to Rangers for the next five years – as stated on the Rangers website on Tuesday evening.
der Berliner 3,744
Those who can read have a clear advantage ... (Though we have to chase Lindsay Herron around the Stadium a couple of times for this ecstatic headline: Boss Thrilled As Trio Sign No word in any report about signings though.) pete 2,499
I have no problem with them refusing to give a 5 year deal if that is in their rules. Not everything the SFA do is wrong although it may seem that way at the minute.
DUDE 0
Barrie has pledged his future to Rangers for the next five years What exactly does that mean now? He promised to stay but wasn't able to actually sign that contract due to being 17 according to SFA regulations. And he's going to do so once he turns 18?
