The SFL today announced the fixtures for the forthcoming season with 13 matches in total for the Light Blues. Exact dates and times will be confirmed ahead of each match, with the Gers likely to play the majority of their home matches at Murray Park, although Ibrox may also feature.. Each club participating in the Reserve League will play each other once either home or away, with Gers scheduled to play one more away match than home fixtures. Fixtures are currently scheduled as week commencing with all matches due to be completed by the end of 2012. Fixtures are subject to change, with exact venues and kick off times to be confirmed on a weekly basis. Hutton and Naismith have been on the periphery of the first team in the opening phase of the campaign. Midfielder Hutton started the Ramsdens Cup tie at Brechin back in July but has not featured since then while striker Naismith has had three substitute appearances. Both should start the Reserve League opener at Annan’s Galabank Stadium. Coach Tommy Wilson said: “It’s the ideal chance for players like Kyle Hutton and Kal Naismith – boys that I know well – to get some game time and maybe show the first team coaching staff how they can perform on the surface that the first team will play on this weekend.” Rangers will play 13 Reserve League matches this season – seven away at six at home with most of the home game taking place at the Training Centre. There is no age restriction so Ally McCoist may choose to give first team stars match action from time to time. Wilson added: “We are hoping to play our home games at Murray Park on Pitch One but one of the issues is the lighting. “We are taking steps to sort that out and I’m sure that teams that come here will really enjoy it. “We might play the odd game at Ibrox – and I hope we do and maybe get a bit of a crowd.” 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
