Taking offence on the offensive - Bill McMurdo

So why the one sided onslaught against just one set of supporters in the media and political circles, are you trying to say we are the only support to do anything wrong because I hope not.

Probably a mix of BBC Scotland being stuffed to the roofs with celtc types, and us handing them gifts on a plate on a regular basis.

‘Few things are more curious than the way in which old creeds, supposed long ago to be dead and buried, and satisfactorily forgotten, every now and them crop up to assert their continued vitality. […] Even amongst people who pass themselves off very successfully as contemporary mortals we find these curious resurrections of extinct superstitions which suggest that their believers are rather the inhabitants of a past epoch, who by some accident have not heard of their own death, than real living and moving moderns...there is a proposition that ancient beliefs frequently expire, not by the attacks of opponents or because the force of argument is manifestly against them, but by a kind of spontaneous decay when they have become unsuited to the prevailing atmosphere of opinion. The progress of knowledge consists as much in getting rid of old prejudices as in learning new truths’. ([Anon], ‘Survival of Instincts’, Saturday Review 28: 730 (October 1869), 535-36).

Plus ca change. We're hardly the first group to find ourselves in this spot! It's all about societies, what they deem 'acceptable' and how you react to that.

Mr Steel votes SNP, not that I imagine many are interested.

shame your memorys as shit as your arguments.:hammer:

As a bit left wing politically I'm delighted to be joined on the moral high ground by so many previously shy socialists. At the last general election, I and (iirc) 886 other souls in the Paisley South constituency voted for the Scottish Socialist Party.

either way.. its clear where your views lie.

Shame there's been elections since, and having joined the SNP I rather thought I would vote for them.

Let's have an accord - if you're posting, I will happily leave the site. Let me know.

lol, now now take the dummy and put it back in the pram winston.

I dont ask you to leave the site. I just find your posts/threads/views meaningless on the basis of your voting opinions.

they say it all. and in every debate all I think back to is you saying you voted SSP, kinda takes the shine away from your 1799 posts. :fish:

-edited- forgot .. your post above was on 16th July 2012.... pmsl yeh ok

So you agree then that people in a position of power are using their position to swing the agenda against Rangers.

As for handing them gifts on a plate the BBC are not the be all and end of Scottish media yet week after week the Mhanky Hordes roam about Scotland singing about terrorists and picking fights with everybody including themselves and not a whisper from anybody if that is not institional bias then I don't know what is.

As for your political leanings Andy each to their own their much of the same these days. What I will say is if the Scottish people march into independence like Zombies to the tune of the nationalists trumpet then it will be a sad day for Scotland, imo.

About societies more than ever a society follows what the media is pumping them with and if that media continually paints Rangers Bigotted bad bastards as opposed to Celtic lovely Irish craicsters then what side do you expect them to come down on.

Who someone votes for, what they think politically, what they see as social injustice or opportunities for market forces really doesn't have much bearing on whether they think we should play 442 or 352. Rangers fans come in all shapes and sizes, some you'll agree with a lot, some you'll agree with on occasion and some you'll have nothing in common with. It's good for you to be understand where the 'other guy' is coming from though in my opinion.

I would agree if this thread had been debating about formations, tactics and any other real football issues. Hence why I have not trolled any other post Andy has made, even if I agree or disagree.

however, Andys tone has his SSP/SNP face showing a little and hence why the need to just ridicule this a little.

bad blueflag...

for what its worth, i agree that his political views has nothing to do with his supporting of rangers, and talking football matters. tho really... i dont know that many Rangers supporting SSP voters ;)
