Darthter 542
Picture the scene....its 3 years in the future, and the Scottish football setup is still the same. We have just won div 1 and therefore eligible for promotion back into the SPL. Is there ANY requirement that we MUST go up??? Can a club refuse or simply not apply for SPL membership??? Given that the SPL & SFL are two completely separate bodies, I would think there is no compulsory promotion....

Given that the SPL & SFL are two completely separate bodies, I would think there is no compulsory promotion.... This is something I mentioned in the summer that because we are the only show in town the SFL could move away from the SPL and become the main player again. The teams in Div 1 like Dunfermline, Morton, Raith, Partick, Falkirk are all on par with the SPL teams like St Mirren, St Johnstone, Ross C, Caley etc for size and fan base. I previously mentioned it could be like the BDO / PDC situation in darts where the PDC is now the biggest and best. If the SFL managed to get the right applications with UEFA so the SFL champs were put in Europe then the SPL would dissolve. I think the SPL maggots may realise this hence the merge that will take place. Winning the SFL would make us champions of that body therefore Scottish Champions. Celtic would eventually pass our 54 but when you look at it as a race to 54 we won because the history books will show we didnt compete from 2012 onwards. These are the strength tools RFC and the SFL should be using unless we are part of the restructure debate.

Daniel Amokachi 0
In 5 years time when we are once again the SPL winners for the 2nd time on the trot, we will find ourselves in an even worse league than we were once in, with a horrific co-efficient, and an even worse chance of beating any shite team in Europe. Food for thought.

Daniel Amokachi 0
There has to be some sort of future beyond what we are seeing. Seeing Welsh side Swansea in their Real Madrid style shirts managed by Michael Laudrup march to the top of the Premiership albeit temporarily must show some sort of possibilities. Off topic - if Swansea can achieve near 90% pass completion rate in the EPL with their tiny resources surely we can achieve such a state in the third division. Unfortunately, it's more likely to find our opposition out passing us. Our manage is just atrocious at the end of the day Edited August 26, 2012 by Daniel Amokachi
craig 5,199
You like the word atrocious huh ? Me thinks you overuse it. Atrocious is a drastic word to use, and in many cases your use of it is overdramatic.

Cammy was predicting it for years. the unfortunate thing is that no one was listening.
