SEBASTIEN FAURE has revealed Ally McCoist told him Rangers could be back in the SPL within two years.

The Ibrox new boy is in contention for a debut against Berwick in todayâ??s live Third Division clash.

Itâ??s been suggested league reconstruction would see Rangers accelerate back to Scottish footballâ??s top flight in the space of only two seasons.

And former Lyon kid Faure claims McCoist confirmed he could be back in the big boysâ?? league before the end of the three-year-deal he signed last week.

Faure claimed: â??The manager has said to me there is a possibility that we could get back to the top flight within two years.

â??Obviously, Iâ??m here for three years, so I hope we will be able to do that.

â??Even if the manager hadnâ??t said that, I would still have signed.

â??Thatâ??s because of the facilities we have here.â?

The 21-year-old won his move after impressing during a week-long trial.

And the French under-20 ace jumped at the chance to join the club despite being in the Third Division.

He added: â??I came here initially for a weekâ??s trial and, after three days, the manager said he wanted to keep me for an extra week.

â??I know Rangers are a legendary club.

â??When I was at Lyon, Rangers played against us. Iâ??ve also been to the stadium twice for games and was really impressed with it.

â??Iâ??ve followed what has been happening since the start of the summer when we found out Rangers would be in the Third Division.

â??I realise that, despite all of the problems, Iâ??ve signed for a big club.

â??Carlos Bocanegra has helped me settle because he speaks some French.

â??I plan to take English lessons. It would be good for me if Carlos stays and also more interesting.

â??It would help me to play alongside him â?? certainly at first anyway â?? although I do know most of the football terms in English.â?

Faure admits he has been inspired to come to Scotland after the exodus of big names from France â?? even his old Lyon manger and Ibrox flop Paul le Guen.

He added: â??Le Guen was coach at Lyon for three years, but I didnâ??t speak to him at all about coming here.

â??I didnâ??t ask anyone else â?? I knew myself that this was a good club to come to.

â??Now I want to emulate Franck Sauzee, Gilles Rousset, Jean-Claude Darcheville and Jeremy Clement. Iâ??ve watched all of these players on television.â?
