CumbernauldGers 0
Ally this is how to play him and get a great game, hope you were watching. He played just behind Lafferty and was great, man of match and set 2 goals up. He should play just behind Sandaza.

CumbernauldGers 0
The lanky piece of rubbish was carried by him I bet. Yeah, Shiels was doing all the running and link up play. If he can do that at this level he should be even better in DIV3.
Whosthedado 1,685
I watched this game instead of the Tartan 'boo your own player' muppets. Shiels was probably NI's best player. Not bad for a 3rd division player eh Levien. Quite an entertaining game although some of the defending especially from NI was a bit suspect to say the least!

Maybe I am wrong here, but Shiels was playing with No. 9 on his back these last two games and was exactly where you apparently want him? He only shifted position when Sandaza and Kyle came on, who are more natural strikers. McCulloch was the spearhead, McKay and Shiels did the running, passing, and shooting too.

He was not playing at all mate in the last game, he was on the park but not playing. But that was the managers fault as none of the players had a clue where they were meant to be playing.
Craigy1881 79
wait a min, how could he possibly get man of the match have such an influence on the game. he plays in the crappy Scottish 3rd division, surely shouldn't be near a national team ;-)
Frankie 8,570
IMO, Shiels should be used in exactly the same was Naismith was - as an attacking midfielder in what should essentially be a free role.
