Competition Time with Stewart Regan

Recommended Posts

A new fun game for all the family! All the comments below have been made over this summer, but only one has required a slapping down from Generalissimo Stewart Regan!! The SFA chief executive described certain comments about him as â??undignified, irresponsible and unpalatableâ? but resolved to rise above them for the future good of the game (Daily Record 1/8/12). Can you, reader, guess which one????

"And Dunfermline chairman John Yorkston predicts that further calls to remove Regan will receive widespread backing. "As far as Stewart Regan goes, we'll certainly be supporting moves to get him out his job when the SFA agm (annual general meeting) comes up," Yorkston told BBC Scotland. "I believe it will be progressed and have a lot of support."

"Whether some good can be extracted from the impending mess will depend entirely on the SPL clubs, guided by the currently absent leadership of the SFA."

Clyde FC statement, 4/7/12

â??The overwhelming reality is that we are being asked to make one of the most important decisions for Scottish Football in a vacuum devoid of factual information, that vacuum having been filled with unhelpful rhetoric and scaremongering by the chief executives of the SFA and SPL."

Clyde FC statement, 10/7/12

"It has been reported that a motion of no confidence in Mr Regan was proposed and seconded at the end of the SFL meeting, but did not proceed to a vote as it was felt that, even though all of the members of the SFL attending were SFA members too, it was not the correct forum for that. One might have expected some form of statement from Mr Regan in reply. I have seen none."

â??That said, Iâ??d love a couple of resignations over this."

Turnbull Hutton, Raith Rovers FC, 4/07/12

"â??In recent days, I have been in a number of meetings with Stewart Regan, Rod Petrie and other senior SFA figures - and despair at the lack of leadership shown."

Ally McCoist, 28/07/12.

A grand prize of One Tour Round the Apocalpyse, with a View of Social Unrest from the top of a bus thrown in, accompanied by the Generalissimo himself awaits one lucky winner.
