Transfer thread - OFFICIAL!! David Templeton signs 4 year deal

Depends on how much we are paying him?,he could be a decent signing for the 3rd division?,and in the 3rd division I don't expect to see free flowing pretty football.

I would like us to dictate games we good passing and movement, obviously 3rd Division pitches and standard won't conform to that but I don't want us to go deeper towards the long ball crap.

His goal ratio across his career isn't far off a goal every 5 games :sowsuser:. Terribly injury prone and we will be playing in a league full of hatchet men looking to injure our players.

Plus again, we should easily have enough quality to get up division 2 and 3 with our eyes closed, we should be focusing on players we can develop and play in the SPL and hopefully Europe one day.

I bet McCoist is going to go for two big strikers and just get the ball punted up to them all game :hm:

In the SPL people blamed our poor football on the opposition which was nonsense really because they would regularly outplay us keeping the ball on the deck

They kept the ball but rarely did anything with it and sat back mainly when we had the ball. We had a good counter attacking side but everybody caught onto that, so we start using the long ball and it didn't really work.

Last season there was countless games particularly at Ibrox where we were played off the park. The only time in recent years we have played decent football for any prolonged period was the title run in in 2010/11.

Playing the long ball was our own doing. Years ago we played McCulloch on the left of midfield with the soul aim of playing long diagonal balls to him.

CRAIG BEATTIE has told Rangers to up the ante if they want him at Ibrox next season.

Express Sport broke the story that the ex-Hearts star had been offered a deal by Ally McCoist â?? although it was less than what was on offer from English League One side Notts County.

Beattie has since turned down the Ibrox offer, although further talks are expected to be held between Rangers chief executive Charles Green and the strikerâ??s representatives this week.

Both sides are confident a deal can be struck. Meanwhile, the Light Blues will have to play a waiting game in their bid to land former St Johnstone striker Francisco Sandaza.

McCoist has offered the out-of-contract Spaniard a three-year deal.

Fran has a few options in Spain and Belgium and is currently considering his next move

Sandaza is currently considering the offer and, although he would receive improved terms to what he was on at

McDiarmid Park, it is understood he isnâ??t keen on dropping down to the Third Division.

Sandaza also has a firm offer from a Belgian club and is the subject of interest in his homeland but is not rushing into a decision on his future.

The 27-year-old remains unhappy with the way he was treated in January when Rangers expressed an interest in signing him before pulling out of the deal â?? although that was being driven more by former director of football Gordon Smith than boss McCoist.

A source close to Sandaza said: â??Yes, Fran has been offered a three-year contract to sign for Rangers. It is a very good offer in the circumstances.

â??Fran has a few options in Spain and Belgium and is currently considering his next move.

â??He is in no rush and is prepared to wait and see if anything else will come in.

â??Rangers hasnâ??t been dismissed, but I know Fran doesnâ??t fancy playing in the Third Division â?? even if there is the promise of future league construction.â?

Kevin Kyle is on trial at Ibrox and he is likely to be offered a contract this week, especially if a deal canâ??t be stuck with Beattie.

McCoist also has to decide whether to make another move for Steve Jennings now that he has dropped his interest in Greek veteran Pantelis Kafes.

There is also the possibility that Carlos Bocanegra, Maurice Edu and Kirk Broadfoot could all leave Ibrox before the close of the window.
