Darthter 542
No offence to the big man, but I think we'd need to have someone a wee bit quicker than Goian in the middle of a back 3 as well to be honest. It could work against any teams we play who lack pace themselves though..... We had a fairly pacey centre back with Bougie....the problem was he thought he was a winger!!! Goian's pace wasn't an issue in the SPL, I would think DIV 3 won't be any different.
Daniel Amokachi 0
You talk about 4-3-3 like it's something new. Us old timers can remember when Alf Ramsey invented 4-3-3 in the '66 World Cup! I'm not saying it's new, just that it's the prevalent formation among decent modern day sides.
alexscottislegend 2,429
I've heard a lot of good things promised for young Lewis McLeod. Anyone have any info. on him? What position does he play in midfield?
Zappa 0
Not sure if it's been mentioned on another thread as I've just come on the forum, but there were some faces missing from the team bus. Goian, Boca, Edu & I think maybe Wallace too... were all missing.

Hmm, surprised if Wallace isn't there, hasn't seemed in any hurray to leave.
Zappa 0
Hmm, surprised if Wallace isn't there, hasn't seemed in any hurray to leave. Maybe I just didn't spot him. The players shuffled off the bus pretty quickly. Bedoya wasn't there either.

bluebear54 0
That's what I've seen on Twitter. Midfield looks a wee bit inexperienced. Back and front good though.
der Berliner 3,888
Official site says: IAN BLACK wil make his Rangers debut today at Glebe Park - and it's also a first start for youngster Lewis Macleod. Andy Little also makes the starting line up after joining Black in signing for the club late last week. The pair will play as trialists in a strong team that sees Rangers kick off their season in the Ramsdens Cup. Neil Alexander takes his expected place in goal, with a defensive four made up of full internationals in front of him. Kirk Broadfoot and Lee Wallace take the full back positions with Dorin Goian and Carlos Bocanegra in the centre. Macleod, McKay and Black will take roles in midfield along with Lee McCulloch and Kyle Hutton. Little will take on the key forward role, but will be strong supported by McKay and McCulloch. Rangers: Alexander; Broadfoot, Goian, Bocanegra, Wallace; Black, Hutton, McCulloch, Macleod, Little, McKay Subs: Gallacher, Cole, Naismith, Crawford.
der Berliner 3,888
It is good to see that Alexander is indeed "expected" to play in goal
