Coistyâ??s TV licence

Recommended Posts

Personally, I believe the SFA/SPL are delaying this so we can't sign any players before the game, thus actually cutting off a very lucrative future TV deal for further games involving Rangers FC.

Talk about nose, spite and cutting!

But would this not assume that our current players can't beat Brechin City FC? I mean, this is our first ever foray into this lower league cup, so for all players involved, destiny beckons ...

We'd hope they could win it, but it's touch and go as they've not even had any proper training matches yet. I think it's a big ask to go straight in and beat a 2nd div team, just like that, with all the pressures that have been going on in the last few months.

But here's hoping that we do win. If we do win, it won't be from any help offered from the football authorities.

Also, Brechin are well fired up, lets hope it's remains a dream for them.

Brechin would be happy with the draw and replay @ Ibrox

Format

1. The Competition shall be contested by the clubs in the First, Second and Third Divisions in the current season.

2. The ballot for the First Round shall be made in two regional sections and so arranged that a combination of ties and byes will produce sixteen clubs to compete in the Second Round (i.e. 14 Ties and 2 Byes). The clubs will be balloted in pairs and these clubs will play a single tie on the ground of the first club named. The fourteen winning clubs will qualify to play in the Second Round.

3. For the Second Round, the fourteen winning clubs from the First Round and the two clubs which received a bye in the First Round shall be inserted into a ballot and drawn in pairs. The clubs will play a single tie on the ground of the club first named and the eight winning clubs will qualify to play in the Third Round. This procedure will be repeated in the Third and Semi-Final Rounds until two clubs qualify for the Final Tie.

4. In all rounds, including the Semi-Final and Final Rounds, if a match is drawn at the end of ninety minutes, an extra thirty minutes will be played, and if still undecided, the winner shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Rules laid down by the International Board.

There is no way we should accept a temporary licence. They either give us a full one or they don't.

It would only be done for the purposes of TV and therefore they can screw themselves and Sky can see what a state the organisation of Scottish football is in.
