Just back from town

There is no other country this side of the moon where people can jovially and freely sing songs in support of terrorist organizations and are let off, while those who essentially slagg them for that or fight with counter songs are targetted by media, politics and police.

Imagine Atletico Bilbao fans singing songs in support of ETA, praising their fighters and bombings and any other supporter of a Spanish team is chased away by the police for protesting against this?

Make no mistake, I do not hate the scum's support for religious reasons (indeed, I have a fair level of contempt for any sort of monotheistic religion, but that is just MHO), and IMHO a large proportion of the Rangers support don't do either. What irks me most is their open and free support of a terrorist organization (not Ireland or its "freedom") that killed thousands of people, as well as the card blanche they and their club get from the authorities. Not least during Lennon's reign.

Whats wrong with that chant , we are allowed to hate our city rivals surely ? it happens in every city in the world with 2 big teams, people do hate us, some of us care some of us don't, the orcs call themselves F*******, but when we say it somehow it takes on a whole different meaning.

There is a lot worse things get chanted by other fans in Scottish football than that chant. To many Rangers fans falling into the appeasement trap. As reaction to this post will show:)

Fuck Celtic, why do we have to sing songs about Celtic whilst protesting about the SFA in George Square?

Fuck them, don't sing about them and ignore them, with a bit of luck, we won't need to play them for the next 3 years.

Because there was a friends of Ireland protest going on at the same time that the Bears were also protesting about maybe ? it's only a song don't make a big issue of it . That's what the Tims do.

That's fine if you want to ignore them then do that, and if you don't like the song then don't sing it. It's a bit unfair to come on here and start a thread shooting down other Bears for singing a song because you personally don't like the song .

When we start the season in Div 3 i want 1 thing to happen, i wish these so-called football supporters that want to sing about the pope, celtic or who ever would fuck off and do it else where.

Dont do it in Rangers name, dont do it in footballs name.

Times have changed and normal people have moved on.

Should we ditch Follow follow also, or maybe change the words that have been sang loud and proud for decades because the times have changed and somehow its now wrong for us to mention our city rivals name?

you've worded that in quite an antagonistic fashion but I agree with the sentiment.
