Leggat - Ticketus And The Season Ticket Cash Plea By Green

Recommended Posts

So if any investor came to Rangers with serious money but wanted to remain anonymous, you would say no go away?

Thank God your not in charge.

The club's in a life or death situation though Allan and it's only right that a lot of fans want to know exactly who is behind a takeover after Whyte almost completely destroyed the club.

Whyte made a mess of it, unforgivable of course but he clearly still wasn't a Celtic agent sent in to destroy us from the start.

I said it to illustrate the importance of 100% clarity on who owns us.

not because its true or even likely but because if you accept anything but clarity you make all things possible.

I wouldn't say that we need a full 100% list of shareholders, but certainly once it's set in stone the fans should be given the identities of those who have greater than a 5% stake in our club.

actually I believe full lists are a legal requirement. its these trust funds that bear watching.

That's where we hit a problem in terms of knowing who the real investors are. After all, a fund of 50 investors could be created much like what was supposedly behind the Ticketus/Octopus deal that Whyte did and in that type of scenario following the money trail is difficult, perhaps even nigh on impossible.

If it was a one man takeover then yes, but if an investor who wants 5% says I want to remain anonymous he/she has that right. This we must know who they are, then every little detail about their private and business life appears on less scrupulous sites. If I was thinking of investing but I knew this would happen I wouldnt touch us with a barge pole.

there's rules to stop you remaining anonymous though.

its not allowed for very good reasons.

If you were that concerned about your investment becoming public knowledge you probably wouldn't invest in us at this point in time anyway.
