calscot 0
I can't see how they can go on about sporting integrity and us paying footballing debts while allowing our players to transfer for free. Even if the law says that they can move, it is still NOT sporting integrity. Rangers a being unfairly disadvantaged and the signing teams are gaining an unfair advantage.

Guest Dutchy
Well it might put a stop to the feeding frenzy of our players, as they don't appear just as 'free' as at first thought. Although I'd expect the buying teams to get their man in the end, it would be good if we were to get £200,000- 500,000 for them, but I wouldn't be on it. I certainly think we'll get something for our youths.
craig 5,199
Looks like it might be nothing to do with the SFA though and is only because RFC wont sign the release papers. This is from Sportinglife. International clearance for the transfers of Steve Davis, Kyle Lafferty, Jamie Ness, Steven Whittaker and Steven Naismith has been put on hold as Rangers newco continue to dispute the players' status. Charles Green rejects the claim that the players are free agents but Naismith moved to Everton, Whittaker signed for Norwich, Ness joined Stoke while Northern Irish duo, Davis and Lafferty, are at Southampton and Swiss side Sion respectively. The Scottish Football Association procedurally can't complete the international transfer clearance as it has to be signed by all parties
craig 5,199
PS - Not sure how this all works - if they are treated as free agents then RFC wouldnt need to sign the papers, surely ? All a mess, as per usual.
pete 2,511
From what I have read Rangers had the right to move their contracts to the Newco. Their case seems to be based on a technicality that Green did not communicate with them first. How can you measure communication? Green sent all players an email stating that their contracts were going to be transferred. In today's modern world an e-mail is a legal means of communication. How much communication is needed? Are there guidelines on that? I would certainly be looking to take legal advice to take legal action against the players. We will never get these players back, even if we wanted them back which is doubtful, but we should have a good case for compensation.
