Great read from RM's Bluepeter9

PS Three years without Celtic and Rangers in the same league may allow some of our fans to get off the bigot box and start support a football team. They won't change but I hope we do - and they are shown up for what they are.

We did agree - once - LOL

Our fan base does carry clout - demonstrated by the fact that Rhagan et. al. are desparate to get us back into the SPL asap - Div1 route or SPL2 route shows how desparately they need us - and that is down to our fan base and that is down to our clout. Rhagan and Liewell need to be taken on - head first - but not in a way that weakens all of us but by showing them how weakened they really are without us. With credible leadership in the club our fans base gives us real power what we lack is the leadership to use it - Green seems to be pretty combative and time will tell if he takes these battles on - but there is NO point fighting without a goal - and our goal has to be a strong Rangers and we wont get that in a weak lead - unless we are happy with the big fish small pond mentality. I want back to the TOP!

:( I was hoping that agreement was something that I imagined. :D

I would describe clout as influence and not just finance. We obviously supply a great deal of cash to the game, but I have not seen the support influencing any decisions for a number of years, unlike others.

Rangers will draw Celtic in both cups next season, the corrupt SFA will make sure of that.

And both games will be at their midden.

If we carried clout we wouldn't be getting ignored in all of this, and we are. Clout isn't about the numbers we bring it's about the influence we have, we currently don't have very much of that.

Other than that I enjoyed your piece, thanks.

The Rangers support has been demonised and our club looted. Their will be a time to make friends, starting next season in SFL3. There has to be a reckoning with some others before there can be any hope of reconciliation and I think that this is a necessary part of the process.

You are correct, the Rangers support has been demonised. The result of in excess of 20 years demonisation, is marginalisation.

I have listened these last four Saturdays to Jim Spence et al on Pacific Quay CSC Radio. He has had Dougie Alexander(St Mirren), Jim Traynor(Airdrie), Robb McLean(Ross County), Stuart Cosgrove(St Johnstone), Tom English(Sellik), Hugh MacDonald(Sellik), .............................. etc as guests; all discussing Rangers. Spence makes big play on the fans' revolution, he advocates broadcasters and print media should listen in the same way club Chairmen did.

The Rangers support overwhelmingly have revolted in favour of SFL3, however Spence does not listen to the Rangers support. Our view does NOT count and will continue NOT to count in Jim's view until we show humility, remorse, and contrition. As stated, marginalised.

In a normal society and situation BP9's sentiments would be applauded universally and possibly even have been embraced long before now organically however....we do not live in anything like a normal society and our situation has gone way, way past normal. I know it's probably a bit immature but I strongly wish ill upon those who have tried, let's face it, to finish us. Not hurt us or cripple us, they have sought our obliteration from the game and from their twisted view of society.

I've detected that some in the game seem to think we are about emerge into a new progressive era in Scottish Football, that our situation has in some way cleansed the leagues of some kind of malaise. Far from it...we are about to enter the next phase of decline in Scottish Football and for me it can't come quick enough. Only at that point will we be able to build something new and progressive, or indeed join with a new league structure, perhaps regionally within Europe and compete in something bigger than the petty jealousy and hatred of the SFA's set up. Like an addict who is managing to barely hold down a job or maintain some kind of veneer of normality, only when he hits rock bottom will he be able to bounce back without the monkey on his back.

In a survival of the fittest race we are pretty weak at the moment - and one thing our clubs custodians (and fans) need is a way of making sure what we have been through never happens again (and in some way the NEW financial rules help us in that)

I also agree that there needs to be some sort of consolidation of teams to make competition stronger - a single Dundee team perhaps - Edinburgh can sustain 2 teams - Motherwell / Airdrie / Hamilton as one.

But the gloating and desire for revenge should not be our motivation for change - we need change because chage is needed - we should not be seeking the destruction of other (or even the infliction of the same misery as we have been through) as a catalyst for change.

I agree !!!! and that is where leadership comes in SDM did provide leadership but AJ did not. The fans base gives us our financial clout but it takes leadership to use it for our benefit. We may all hate liewell but one thing he has provided his 'legions' is leadership - its a nasty and virulent leadership but he used the clubs clout for his clubs benefit - out new leaders must do the same.
