Will club seek compensation on players leaving?

Recommended Posts

Just a thought, Green said players should legally be transferred to newco, so will he be challenging and investigating those walking away? If they are his asset then he should be persuing this. If I own a car then all of a sudden someone else is driving it claiming its theirs Id not simply accept this.

It could get messy and costly but he should be looking into it IMO. Or are the players correct and contracts void?

A legal matter i won't get involved in as I have no idea who is right.

I think a lot of it rests on the TUPE regulations - if they were followed correctly, then CG have a case for pursuing those players that left. If the regulations were not followed correctly then the players are correct.

It all comes down to crossing the T's & dotting the i's......

Unless I am mistaken, we wil get compensation for McCabe and possibly Fleck regardless, youth development et al.

You would hope that D&P were correct, so the club gets at least somewhat for the "deserters". What makes me wondering is that other clubs happily sign these chaps on without knowing the potential outcome of this. They might be sued for luring the players from existing contracts, mind you.

The Sion chairman ... is that the same guy who fielded a dozen of players signed under the transfer embargo and challenged God and the world for that?
