Smith consortium withdrawing bid ??!

Recommended Posts

TB - that sounds plausible.

Either that or Green is playing hard ball with the amounts he wants to let the club go for or even for a part of the action and so the consortium are saying - on you go then, we'll be there to pick up Rangers on the cheap when you run out of cash and things start to go pear shaped. Or you could make a fast buck and walk away now.

so we have to discount any stories about a lack of funding?

sounds a bit dangerous. sounds like something whyte would say.

good luck to green but be careful not to get blinded to him because you dislike the opposition. whyte used that to great effect.

Can all this nonsense about not buying season tickets stop now?

Seems that way. Once again we're left with the only show in town and that is Green.

It's got to be said that it's been a shoddy saga for such an illustrious club.

Stop making yourself out to be some sort of outsider, if you aren't following Rangers anymore you wouldn't still be on Rangers forums.

YET again the Rangers men with the money to buy our club for a pittance have once again shown their true colours and ran off , shameful , truly shameful

I might be in a minority of one, but I think Smith's group are tactically withdrawing to increase pressure on Mr Green. Seems like a risky strategy to me, mind you, and frankly an unnecessary one. I suppose it depends on whether Charles & Co. were quoting pie-in-the-sky figures and weren't showing any sign of getting real anytime soon.
