Season Ticket Information - FF

Recommended Posts

This is taken from FF

Just off the phone to ticket office there

* Season ticket renewals stand as normal and payments will be processed in normal manner

* They have not been informed of any procedure for what may happen if we drop down leagues etc

* They can't confirm wether a refund would be offered in the case if we renewed then cancelled

* They are (by their own admission) clueless to what is going on

* Very few have renewed, most are cancelling due to circumstances

I am taking this as being true BTW.

it sounds plausable. I'm not in work but my mates who have tickets haven't renewed yet. almost all because of the uncertainty.

the guys in work will be interesting most couldn't wait to renew no matter what. if they haven't it will say a lot for me. I suspect they have.

I was tweeting about this earlier.

The club need to make a clear statement on this. I want to renew but can't under the present circumstances. The deadline must be extended to take the SPL vote into account.

I can't believe that Rangers haven't put in place some sort of emergency measure/procedure for the ticket office staff and fans if we do drop down a league or 3. If the OP is true then it's nothing short of amatuerish but very believable.

No-one in their right mind would renew before the spl vote and/or waiting to see what happens with Green in terms of his intentions and any possible Walter-lead move to buy him out. I don't think there's any need for an organised boycott of tickets when most fans will surely sit tight anyway given all that's going on just now.

The situation is ridiculous. Of course the club, under any ownership model of course, will want fans to renew season tickets as early as possible, and of course by this time of year they usuall have over 33,000 renewals to process and cash in the bank, with more coming in by way of DD over the next few months.

However I can think of no proper reason why any "consumer" would buy this product at this time.

Like most fans, I can see no reason why I wont renew my season ticket for 2012-13. However I certainly want to know what competition we are in before I do. If we are in the third division, the prices will have to half at least before fans will buy. Most estimates would say Ibrox would be half full at best playing Div 3 football. Therefore a ST is not required, and the club is certainly not going to charge £25 or thereabouts for a home match against Annan or Queens Park. So it could be the case that fans would get no benefit from a season ticket for this coming season, either financially for paying up front, or guaranteeing a seat as it will never be a sell out.

If we are in Div 3 it could well be the case that most matches are pay at the gate if crowds are as expected.

This has nothing to do with who owns the club, as the fixtures remain the same if it is the blue knights or Green that is in charge.

Pay at the gate?

Ah, the memories.

Trawling the terraces for big Whitbread bottles. Taking them to the Jester Bar and receiving threepence(that's 3d) an empty. Attending Ibrox, it was imperative you took a string bag with you.
