It looks very much as though Malcolm Murray will be Rangers' new chairman, assuming the Charles Green consortium completes its purchase

Do you have to be called Murray to be Chairman of Rangers?

Don't think so.

28-Jul-2003 to 30-Apr-2009

Biography: Malcolm Murray is the Head of UK Sector Policy, Deputy Head of UK Equities. Malcolm graduated in Mathematics and Economics from Strathclyde University. He joined Martin Currie as an analyst covering UK and US equities in 1978. Two years later he joined Phillips & Drew to analyse investment in smaller companies. This proved to be a successful project and from 1983 to 2001 he managed full UK equity portfolios. He managed several clients continuously over this period and developed an excellent performance record. During his time at Phillips & Drew he held various positions including ten years as a Trustee of the UBS Pensions Scheme. Malcolm joined SG Asset Management in 2002 where he is a senior UK equity fund manager.

It appears he's a fund manager.

Perhaps a missive or two awaits his boss.
