Green issues rallying call

Prospective owner says Rangers can be a force once again

Charles Green has issued a rallying call to Rangers fans as he eyes a new chapter in the history of the club.

The Glasgow giants on Friday posted season ticket renewals for the 2012/13 campaign despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding their future.

Green, who is leading the consortium in place to buy the club, told fans Rangers can be "a force once again" as he urged them to renew their season tickets.

The club have been in the hands of administrators Duff and Phelps since February and Green hopes it can exit administration via a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA), as opposed to a newco route, which would place a question mark over which division the club will play in next term.

In a letter issued to all season ticket holders, Green said: "The events of the last season jeopardised the club and everyone connected with Rangers is bruised by the experience but we are ready for a new chapter in the club's illustrious history to be written in season 2012/13.

"There is still uncertainty surrounding the structure of the club as we await the outcome of the CVA meeting on 14 June.

"However, be assured that no matter the business structure going forward, Rangers is and always will be Rangers and with your support the club will go from strength to strength.

"Your loyalty, passion, pride, dedication and True Blue spirit has been nothing short of remarkable and sums up exactly what being a Ranger is all about.

"Rangers has been in existence for 140 years and it will be for another 140 years and beyond.

"With your continued support this club will be a force once again."

There are doubts and we should keep questioning him. We should never take the eye off the ball, that is the lesson we must all learn from the past two abortions. However, Wee hunch he might be a man of his word.
